We need more park space. The city's population is projected to grow by 900 residents per year. Santa Clara will grow even faster, and many of them will be overflowing into our parks.
 
We need more park space, not less. The city should not continue selling off city land while we are already below the open space requirements defined in the General Plan. If I had been on the Council this past two years, I would have voted against selling off the land around Raynor Park, and I would have voted against selling off the land that was dedicated for the Murphy Park expansion.
 
Also, I do not support the city's current plan to investigate the sale of the city's Civic Center land (at the corner of El Camino Real and Mathilda) in order to fund new buildings. .
