Background

I am running for City Council because I am very concerned about what I see in the city's long-term financial outlook, and the long-term plans to over-develop this city. I want to do something about it.

In 2011, I co-founded the grassroots organization Sunnyvale Pension Reform to bring attention to the urgency of Sunnyvale's massive unfunded pension liability. As I regularly attended the City Council meetings, I became interested in many other challenges facing Sunnyvale.

Over the past two years I have attended almost every City Council. Prior to each meeting I study all the Staff Reports and I come prepared to understand everything that is discussed on that night's agenda.

My wife and I have been residents of Sunnyvale for 22 years.

I have been an active volunteer in the Birdland Neighborhood Association, the Japanese-American Museum of San Jose, and Sunnyvale Community Services.  In 2011 I worked on the 2011 Sunnyvale "No-on-A" Campaign, and I recently served on the  Sunnyvale Sustainability Commission and the Community Choice Aggregation Sub-committee.

I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley. I am a software engineer at Synopsys, Inc.
